The lake behind our house

I might have mentioned before that our new townhome abuts a golf course. Right now, the weather is that mix of still-snowing and starting-to-melt that so typifies March in Illinois.

The result is a small lake in our back yard:


It melted some more today, and pretty soon I will be able to plant some iris bulbs that we received as favors for a friend's wedding. They've been growing in some pots in the basement, and I'm sure they'd appreciate growing in some real soil!
