My loom has been very busy!
Knitted Wit in Crafted Perfection |
I finished three scarves in a few weeks! The first was the one I bought my loom for, a beautiful, bright, retro yarn I bought in Wisconsin.
The second was a mix of Great Adirondack Yarn Co. yarns all dyed in the same colorway but in different textured bases. My weaving teacher set me up on the loom and I learned a lot about mixing yarns rather than using the same yarn throughout.

These yarns were given to me by a widower of a very crafty yarn lover in Evanston; I need to send him a photo of the completed project for him to enjoy.
Next is a textured alternating yarn scarf that reminds me of a desert sunrise!

All of the above are plain weave, which shows you how much texture you can get just by using interesting yarns.
I'm working on some more projects, but I'm proud of this little guy and want to show him off. I'm giving him to a friend who's turning 50. But of course, he is hanging out in my apartment until then, staring at me and my husband while we watch TV.It had been a while since I made anything from one of my favorite crochet books of all time, Creepy Cute Crochet. At least I still had the polymer clay to make the eyes and scythe!
More weaving is scheduled for November and December, along with my last yarn bombs of 2021. To be honest, I've been a bit worn out on them, so I've been picking at a few but largely taking a break.
More soon, including a run-down of my resolutions for 2021!
