More dish cloths

I've been stash busting more cotton yarn with some dish cloths, most of them in the last few days being cabled ones. I took this cute little guy to Millennium Park and knitted it while some Lyric Opera singers sampled the upcoming season...

I liked the end product of the Boysen dish cloth, but the cables were a lot to deal with. The benefit is that it's a double-sided piece, unlike most cabled works.

And this guy was part of a knit-a-day calendar a few years ago; I love the stacked cable columns.

These cables were a lot easier to cope with.

The above two patterns were full of cables, but another pattern I made (also free from Knit Picks) was the King Charles dish cloth below, made by alternating knits and purls among a ribbed piece, with seed stitch border all around.

I've got a big pile of rainbow yarn, too, and I'm going to do something fun with it, but I'm waiting until I unpack my boxes of books, because I'd like to use a pattern from them. My bookshelves are due to arrive Friday - can't wait!

Overall I've probably made 15 dish cloths to give away this Christmas - they have been a fun way to blow through patterns I've been wanting to try, and it's been a welcome reduction in my yarn stash. Win-win.
