Turtle cozy

I know I just posted some new projects yesterday, but I had to share this: 

TURTLE COZY!!

My coworker sent me a coy message that she heard a rumor I crochet turtle shell covers (sweaters? cozies? I don't know what to call this). I said I hadn't done one, but that I could find a pattern and do one easily. 

I did find a pattern, and it was easy, but I had to make it a little bigger for this particular turtle, a 20-year-old red slider named Michelangelo! I also did strings on the strap instead of buttons so that the length was a little more flexible.

Fun, quick project!
