Johnson Wax tour

I know that I have been posting a lot of Frank Lloyd Wright stuff this summer, and this will be the last one for a while: the Johnson Wax campus.

S.C. Johnson's corporate headquarters are in Racine, Wisconsin and we took a free tour of the administration building and research tower - which is open for tours for the first time ever!

The administration building was my favorite, as usual, but unfortunately we can't take photos inside. If you want to see what it looks like, this is a good representation

The whole campus is so cool. I really wish that my dad had been able to take a tour.

By the way, the windows of all of the research tower floors and administration building (along with the ceiling of the administration building) are actually stacked glass tubes. Pretty cool.

It was a fun day out with Dave as part of his weekend visit to Chicagoland. We also went on a hike and some beer tours in Aurora, at both Solemn Oath and Two Brothers. I hadn't realized how many saison / Belgian beers are at Solemn Oath, and neither Dave nor I are huge fans of that style, but it was still fun to visit.

This week we have had a little drama in that our tenant broke the lease and left early. They found another tenant for us who is actually paying more per month now, so I guess it worked out in the end. Still, all week I'm going to be cleaning the apartment and probably doing some painting. Ugh. Sometimes I guess being an adult means cleaning your rental unit in addition to stuff like driving all over town on brewery tours and driving to Wisconsin for Frank Lloyd Wright tours...
