Striped Shoe Mat

I moved my husband into an apartment in D.C. for a new job.  (The situation is temporary, but he has his own apartment there for now.)  I decided he needed some crochet items for his home.  First, an oven mitt!

I had a lot of leftover yarn, so I also made this shoe mat, for the wet days in D.C.  It is large enough for one pair of large adult shoes.

The pattern is easy, and I am happy to share with the wider Internet:

Yarn needed (all cotton, for easy washing):

  • White
  • Green
  • Yellow

Directions:

Ch 46

Row 1: Sc into 2nd ch and each ch across.
Rows 2-55:  Sc into each ch across, changing colors as follows:

Rows 1-7: White (7 rows)
Rows 8-10: Yellow (3 rows)
Rows 11-14: Green (4 rows)
Rows 15-24: White (10 rows)
Rows 25-27: Yellow (3 rows)
Rows 28-31: Green (4 rows)
Rows 32-41: White (10 rows)
Rows 42-44: Yellow (3 rows)
Rows 45-48: Green (4 rows)
Rows 49-55: White (7 rows)

Finish off, weave in ends.
