Berry picking

Well, summer is now in full swing, so Dave and I made our first foray into the berry patch. Today we did two things we've never done before: pick strawberries and pull garlic!


We managed to glean two pints of strawberries from Susie's Garden Patch in Garden Prairie, and we picked three garlic bulbs and two scallion bulbs. I'm planning on doing strawberry currant jam, adding the scallions to some garlic scape dip I'm making for my cousin's graduation party tomorrow, and braiding the garlic bulbs with some that I bought at the farmers' market, then hanging them.
