We arrived in Denver today and began our two-hour trek through the mountains to Avon. Julie and I took many beautiful photos of the peaks on the way.
Dave was excited, and very much at home, in the high mountains.
We drove until sunset, when we arrived in Avon and went to Beaver Creek to set up our skiing rentals. We returned and had a delicious dinner of elk burgers and wild boar bratwurst. Mmm!
We steeled ourselves for the skiing ahead, and I worried that I would die on the slopes. After all, we were in the same area where Sonny Bono died, although he was on much more dangerous slopes than I would be on. Obviously I survived though!
