Hail to the Chief!

Yesterday I did indeed get to watch the inauguration on television at DePaul. I watched about two hours of coverage with a crowd of DePaul students and faculty, including some vocal black women who were hilarious.

Yes, I shed some tears. Yes, we clapped and cheered. I remembered how I felt on election night when I saw this:

Sigh. Every time I think of it, my heart jumps.

President Obama.

I continue to be proud of this man, and I will fight for him these next eight years to renew America into a place where civil rights are a reality, and intelligence is valued again.

Hail to the chief!
