Pesto pizza

Okay, it's time for another tasty recipe edition of the blog. Last night I made up a dish called pesto pizza, and it was so good I think I'm going to eat the rest of it all day today.

Pesto Pizza
  1. Make one batch of Wolfgang Puck's Pizza Dough. (Takes about an hour.)
  2. Make one batch of pesto. (This is a good recipe for pesto, but I only used pine nuts instead of pine nuts and walnuts, and I halved the recipe.)
  3. Cover pizza stone with corn meal and stretch out dough. Brush with olive oil, then spread desired amount of pesto onto pie.
  4. Lay fresh mozzarella slices on top and grind up some fresh black pepper. Bake according to the dough recipe.
I was so excited to use fresh basil from my herb garden! This is what I have been doting over those plants all summer for - pesto is my favorite pasta sauce of all time. Plus it's good for you - this pizza is probably the healthiest pizza you will ever eat, besides the mozzarella. Mmm...I think I'm going to go polish some off right now.

Val, I think your recipes are way beyond my abilities...the pizza looks delicious though. BTW, are you still doing the recipe exchange thing?

Aww, try it, it's not that hard at all! All you need is a blender / food processor to make the pesto.
