Strawberries aplenty

Yesterday Dave and I attended the Long Grove Strawberry Festival for the second year running, although this year it was sadly without Andy and Jo. (Damn those world-travelling kids...)

It was well worth the outing - we had chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry slushes, and chocolate-covered kebobs with strawberries, marshmallows, donut holes, and rice krispie squares on a stick. Mmm...

It was funny to see the clientele of the festival - this year it seems like all the pregnant women in the area had simultaneous cravings for anything related to strawberries. (But then, who didn't.)

Can't wait 'til next year. And as a follow-up to this, we plan to go on a tour of the chocolate factory in Long Grove, so if anyone wants to go with, it's $2 for the tour (with samples included). Dave says I just want to go because I think it will be like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory from the movie, but I kind of hope it's not; I could do without the Oompa Loompas.
