The past is present

Recently I was visiting my parents, and we decided to flip through old albums. It was an incredibly humorous look through our past, especially considering how goofy we all looked during the '70s and '80s.

(I guess when I say that "we" looked goofy in the '70s, I really mean that my relatives looked goofy.)

Then, today, I Googled myself to see what would come up, and of course, I found some of my old Vidette articles - especially some which were republished elsewhere (which I knew about, but had forgotten). It's nice to see that other news sources picked up on my columns and republished them:

Old column on international politics

Old column where I flip out on jerks who deface books

Old column on gender bias in video games

Old column on top ten things I learned on my study abroad

It's fun to reminisce - especially when you've got such good things to reminisce about.

That Rainbow Brite costume is the cutest Halloween costume I've ever seen! I wish they made creative costumes like that now.

My mom made it from a pattern!

Video games are the devil. No. Wait. They're not the devil, but they are extremely gender biased, which is almost as bad.

My dear, you underestimate the devil...http://tinyurl.com/2bzer8

Okay, I have a few comments on these pictures.
1. I miss both of you being that age, you both were a blast.
2. Why did I let you drink water from the pool you were sitting in?
3. Grandma looks young and happy.
4. I did a good sewing job, didn't I? I was going to sell that costume at a garage sale, Grandma wouldn't let me, so I have it!
5. You were so cute on your Care Bear big wheel, and Michelle equally as cute behind you.
6. I am NOT anonymous!
