I had some extra red peppers left over from dinner tonight, so I asked Dave to look up online whether bunnies can have them.
Guess what the first link was? A recipe for stewed rabbit with red peppers! I guess the general public just doesn't see rabbits the way we see them.
Fortunately, I do have some good rabbit news, though! The bunnies are both doing well, and I have a vet appointment scheduled for them on Thursday. (Unfortunately I had to schedule my stitch 'n' bitch - sorry guys!)
Remember the little man's jaw abscess? Well, it's gone! We have been sticking him with penicillin shots every other night, and the abscess has been totally eradicated! (I guess I owe my new vet a big hug, and I owe my old vet a nasty phone call.)
I feel very vindicated, both for myself and my rabbit-loving friends in the House Rabbit Society. My old vet didn't believe in the penicillin treatment at all, and wrote it off as a sort of HRS voodoo. I knew if any bunny could get through it, it's my little man. What a strong little bunny.
As for Zelda, she is doing well, although something is going on with her eye, so I'm bringing her in on Thursday, too. I'm not sure what it is, but hopefully it's nothing too serious. The vet said that even for an older rabbit, her kidney and liver functions are excellent. (Guess we're doing something right!)
They both are eating like little horses, so I'm sure they're fine, overall. Zelda seemed kind of whacked out this morning, but she's over there slipping and sliding on her food plate right now.
Speaking of bunny food, I hope the California freeze doesn't hurt our pocketbooks too hard - we buy more romaine, green leaf, red leaf, parsley, cilantro, etc. than I'd care to think about.

What, no stories from Ester's Birthday Party? I was hoping for some black-mailable photos? What, nothing? Mom
I forgot to bring my camera to Esther's party! ARGH! I would have gotten a picture of Esther getting dollar bills shoved in her clothes if I hadn't... ;o)
How old is Zelda? She always seems so active and energetic; I would have never guessed that she's old.
Ooooh, speaking of a stich-'n-bitch, that reminds me, I have this one crochet pattern that makes no sense whatsover. If I e-mail it to you, can you decode it for me?
