Mussermania Part 1

Dave's parents came up this weekend, and Saturday we did Chicago!

First, it was the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum - too bad we couldn't get any pictures, but it was a good show. My one criticism was that they let too many people in at once; thus, even though the Field Museum received the money from the ticket holders, the ticket holders barely got within four feet of each piece.

Next, it was the Art Institute, where Deb got to check out Impressionists aplenty!

After that, we braved the lines (and prices) at the Shedd Aquarium - and it turned out to be worth the wait!

We got to see my favorite tropical fish, the clownfish, as well as seahorses, lionfish, and other deep sea creatures. The special feature they have right now is the lizard exhibit, which includes everything from the tiny to the huge:

Fortunately, we weren't eaten by any lizards and we came out alive. We also saw the dolphin show, and the penguins, which I will write about in another post because Blogger isn't allowing me to upload more than these three for this post!

Valerie, nice pictures. When I told Grandma Smith you were taking the in-laws to King Tut, she says "people come from out of state to see these Chicago sights, and we are an hour away and don't". I said, yeah, you're right. King Tut isn't really on my list I said, but I would like to see the "Bean" in Mil. Park. Grandma asked, what bean?

So, the moral of the story is that Grandma doesn't see stuff because she doesn't know they exist, haha.

I'd love to check out Millennium Park with you guys; I have only seen it once. Go, bean, go!
