Buhon in the Yukon

So, it's official, we're making a trip up north to see Burt! It's a long-overdue visit to one of our favorite people, and we're excited to try the local foods, check out his school, and shop the Mall of America. Woo woo!

Do you like the head shot of Burt that I have here? I submit it to be Burt's official head shot, for eventual use on his departmental website when he becomes a professor. Go, Burt, go!

Today I also finished "The Old Man and the Sea," which, if you'll recall from previous blog posts, I began a while ago. The reading of this book was punctuated by two other books, "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Freakonomics," not to mention various crochet projects (Amanda's wedding doily and my coworker's baby blanket). It's a sad book, I didn't expect to be so sad at the fish's eventual (and inevitable) demise.

In other news, Google Calendar is my favorite new online toy. If you like Gmail, try the calendar out, it's really handy. If you want a Gmail or Google Calendar invite, let me know and I'll hook you up. It's going to help me to remember everyone's birthdays this year, I swear.

P.S. I have a follow-up from Ed & Amanda's wedding, when Ed's aunt asked Andy for his autograph — he just received a postcard from her! Weird.
