This pandemic has been a tough year, and we're beginning to see the beginning of the end (I hope). It's been important for all of us to beautify the spaces that we're in, since we're spending more time at home and in our neighborhoods.
One of my favorite plywood pieces that's been up since the lootings last May is this wonderful painting that stood over the movie theater windows in the Roosevelt Collection. I was lucky to get a photo before they took it down recently in anticipation of reopening.
It's geometric, rainbow, and promotes racial justice and women's empowerment! Basically perfect. |
We've also been buying flowers more than usual - check out this bunch we got around Valentine's Day! Our local grocery shop has some lovely blooms, including all-white bouquets for winter, bright red for Valentine's Day, and nice pastels for everyday decor.
And check out my table-runner - I wove that (with help and instruction!) when we were in Guatemala last year. It's good to remember times when we were able to travel.
Here's to beautifying the spaces we inhabit, every day (and especially pandemic days).
