Decemberists!

Yesterday I went to a free Decemberists concert in Millennium Park, Pritzker Pavillion, which was a really good time spent with some buddies, not to mention a really cool venue. I love the Decemberists, so I was really excited to see them and to see what they would play - plus their accompaniment was the Grant Park Orchestra!

It's too bad it rained for a bit, but we came prepared:


Besides the awesome concert - they played The Mariner's Revenge Song! - it was hilarious to people watch. There was Ballerina Dancing Lady, who occasionally bumped into Crazy Headbanging Guy, not to mention Sasquatch and Futuristic Astronaut Chick. Oh, and Chick With A Tail. And Inexplicably High or Half-Naked 13-Year-Olds. Gross. I guess when the indy folks come out to play, they really show their colors.

Oh, and we pranked my friend Chris in London, because he wanted to come but couldn't. He's destined never to see the Decemberists in concert - it's some kind of curse. But if he happens to be in London every time the Decemberists play in Chicago, he's still a lucky person; lately I have had a strong desire to travel to England. I think it will be a post-law school trip, though.
