The mother in me

Nothing brings out the mother in you like a sick pet. Even people who despise most children, like me, will bust out the mothering instincts when it comes to nursing their loved ones back to health.

The bunnies are doing well, and last night, I was holding the little man (bringing him over to Dave for his oral meds), and he told me I never looked more like a mother.

I'm certainly feeling like the mother of two sick children - last night I called all around the NW suburbs trying to find a vet nearby who would fill my prescription for oral antibiotics. None would! I had to trek - bunny-less - to my vet in Elmwood Park, in rush hour traffic. UGH! Who else would brave 290 at rush hour for no apparent reason?

Then, this morning, I wanted to pet them, but they were in the middle of eating, and I know how that startles the little man. He needs to eat to get well, so I decided to leave them alone for the moment. See? I'm putting their needs above my own!

Anyway, Mom and Deb, don't get too excited just yet. The grandbunnies are it, for now. (For a lonnnggg time.)
