Tricks and treats
OK, so I'm a geek. I dressed up for Halloween today as a dead 12-year-old boy from a tort case, Adams v. Bullock. The kid was swinging around an 8-foot wire and hit a trolley cable, instantly electrocuting himself. Nice.
In the picture, you can see that I wrapped wire around myself and frizzed out my hair. I was pretty pleased with the look, though at first, the professor couldn't see what was strange about the outfit. Hmm. Guess I have to try harder not to look like a dead, mischievous 12-year-old boy all the time?
In this picture are other classmates: (L-R) Wes is a guy who was left for dead after cruising for some chicks in Farwell v. Keaton; Tiffany is one of two hunters from Summers v. Tice that were held liable for shooting someone in the face, and Joe is a doctor who committed malpractice...but there were so many colorful cases like that this semester, it's senseless to pick just one. ;o)
And the bunny went trick-or-treating today...we brought home some groceries and she started to help us "unload" them. Maybe I'm weird, but I think this is just about the cutest picture.
Today didn't really feel like Halloween, maybe because I had such fun celebrating it this weekend. And I'm about to pass out Linus-style, thanks to all the fun reading & legal writing from this week. Talk about a treat...

No, you're not wierd, it is a cute picture. I like how in your last blog, you said how lucky you are, and that you have the cutest bunny. Don't you have 2? By the way, where is the picture of the car on fire? You spoil us with all the pictures. Did a lot of students dress for Halloween, or just your group?
It was just a few of us - only a handful more people dressed up besides us in the picture.
Zelda is the cutest bunny - Moby is actually coming around, but he's not nearly as sweet, therefore not nearly as cute.
Damn, I wish I had a picture of that burning car. It was insane.
Hey, your comment about Moby becoming more friendly reminds me of a story I read in a Chicken Soup for Pets book.
This woman found a bunch of kittens under her porch one day, and all of them were really cute, except one. This kitten wasn't ugly, but it was withdrawn and not affectionate like the others. Everyone fawned over all the other kittens, but ignored the boring one. The woman decided to pay extra attention to the boring kitten as an experiment. After she had kept the kittens for eight weeks, she gave them away free to good homes. Amazingly, everyone who looked at them loved the "boring" kitten. He was the first to get adopted, and friends of hers who had seen the kittens before couldn't believe he was the same kitten.
I bet if the people at the shelter could see Moby now, they'd be amazed at how much friendlier he is and how great you guys are taking care of him.
Aww, thanks, Jules!
Actually someone asked me recently if Moby is still alive, because we always talk about Zelda but not him. To his credit, he is much, much more amenable to petting these days.
So, either he's finally decided we're not going to eat him, or he's resigned himself to it.
