Sometimes you just need to break the routine.
Lately I've been getting out of my routine a lot - for example, I got to go out for dinner last night with Mike to the Italian Village - our favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago!
Oh, the memories from that place - dinners during high school, including after prom - and dinners during college and afterwards.
It had been so long since I'd been there that I got my usual - tortelli tre formaggi. So, even when I'm breaking the routine, I'm still in a routine, I guess.
Also today, it's snowing! Crazy - the last couple of years, I feel like it hasn't really snowed until November, so this is a tad unusual. I like fall and spring because they are a change from the routines of summer and winter, but admittedly the chilliness gets to me at first.
Dave and I are big fans of variety - we like to travel, try new dishes, and make little changes to our daily routines. I think we like it so much because it gets us out of the routine, and each day carries something new for our experience.
No sense in living the same day twice.

Does that mean you'll travel out here sometime soon?
We'd love to come visit you in Washington, but that would require 1) money and 2) free time. Maybe this summer...
That's nice that you got to meet Mike for dinner. Nice to catch up with "old" friends, and go back to a place that has so many memories.
