The election campaigning is really revving up, and it's been an interesting ride. Yesterday, I met two political candidates on my way to school, for instance!
I met Dan Kotowski at the Arlington Heights train station, and at first I thought he was a Republican, because not only did his ads not mention his political affiliation, but neither did he or his entourage. (Have you noticed that lately? No Republican wants to say they're Republican anymore...interesting.)
But no, Kotowski is a Grand Old Democrat (G.O.D. - very interesting), so very likely I will be punching out a chad for him next week.
Then, outside the train station downtown, I met Alexi Giannoulias, the Democratic candidate for Illinois state treasurer. I don't really know what the state treasurer does, precisely, but I'm excited to have met him.
I like observing political campaigns: it's fun to lead up to the election, punch out some chads on a voting stub, and see who wins. It doesn't really make any difference to me whether the ads on TV are for political campaigns or Campbell's soup. (But wait, when was the last time I watched TV?!)
One thing, though, that we're excited about is the return of Andy to the suburbs - at least, we hope he's allowed to return to the north suburbs, after everything he did for the Democrats in the Quad Cities. His beloved Prius even took a hit - those damn candidates had better win, otherwise his busted glass will have been suffered in vain.
So, I'm looking forward to two things after November 7. Andy's coming home, and so are the Democrats. Go blue!!!

I'm looking forward to no TV/radio ads that are cutting down the other candidate. What happened to stating what you are all about, vs. just mud-slinging the other candidate. Guess I live in a dream world.
What happened to Andy's car???
Someone shot out the windshield...
"PRIUSSSS!!!!!"
Hahahahhaa, that's so Wesley Willis--"I broke out your windshield..." hahahhahaa.
Poor Andy, though!
