Love it or leave it

Although this may look like a UFO Dave and I could have sighted from our balcony, in actuality it is a lampshade that I modified with fun dangly things!

As you may or may not know, I have a great affinity with dangly things on lampshades (take that as you will), so you can imagine my thrill at seeing these adorable beads & spangles on a pre-strung ribbon at JoAnn!

The lampshade was only the beginning of my redecorating craziness. This week I also painted the bathroom with Dave, which turned out rather nicely, if I do say so myself.

You might not be able to tell from this picture, but the bathroom looks 100 times better. the walls are white and even, the dirt is gone, and there's even a cute green trim now! It's so bright; it'll be a great place to freshen up every morning.

We also plan on doing the cabinets and kitchen floors sometime in the coming months, whenever we have a spare moment (and relatively spare cash). And, Dave is supposed to install a fun plant hook thingy for the porch, so my "Wandering Jew" plant can hang freely!

All this redecorating has me wanting to de-clutter, so that's what I'm going to go do now, when I finish this post. I read an interesting article online a few months ago, about how if you don't love it - get rid of it.

Well, I try to go by that philosophy, but not very successfully. So, today, when I popped over to my neighbor's house and saw how clutter-less their condo is, you can imagine that this only fueled my drive to clean.

So, I'm going to go pop in a CD, and make a charity pile. Something's going to have to go, to make room for the box o' law books I just received today...
