Don't be a hater

Two funny things from my commute this morning.

On my morning walk from the train station to school, I saw two things worth giggling to myself about.

Number one: I saw three women walking across the street (long after the light turned red), and they were holding up traffic. Though the cars weren't beeping at them or anything (to my surprise), one of the women said: "Hater. He don't know me." Sigh...

Number two: I hadn't noticed this before, but there is a dying Bird of Paradise plant outside of DePaul's loop campus buildings. What this plant is doing in Chicago, I do not know. Obviously, Chicago is not tropical, nor can it sustain tropical plants past mid-August. I bet it looked nice when it was alive, anyway...
