Mussermania Part 3

Sunday with the Mussers was the great, the glorious, Medieval Times!

As pictured, Dave had fun picking out a fun sword-shaped letter opener, And we had a good time cheering for our champion, the Yellow Knight!

I always enjoy the show at Medieval Times, if only to enjoy any kind of sport, check out the horsies, and make fun of the guy putting his paper crown atop his cowboy hat.

Sadly, our knight lost, even though Deb and
I both agreed he was very attractive and generally a good warrior. Oh well.

I was glad to be able to show the Mussers a good time around Chicago, including weird things we have that other places usually don't, like Medieval Times. It's not every day you eat half a chicken while watching guys duke it out over some Spanish chick!

After the show, we headed over to Elk Grove for the grove of elk!

We love visiting the elk, and this is another thing we have in the north suburbs that most of the U.S. doesn't have - that is, unless you live north of the IL-WI border, and even then, you're probably selling the elk for meat. The elk sit so close to viewers, and you can see how fuzzy their antlers are.

So, it was a great weekend with my parents-in-law, and we hope they come again soon!

Gee, you never showed Dad and I the Elk in Elk Grove. Actually, Dad has probably seen it. I'll have to ask. Again, nice pictures. I usually check your blog on my lunch. Kinda hot today, so no park lunch, I'm eating in.

Being one of the Mussers in Mussermania I can assure you that a good time was had by all! That is one of the best weekends I've ever had. We saw some of the best of Chicago--but I agree with you that the penguins at the Shedd were my favorite exhibit. Too cute! You didn't mention the restaurant where we had brunch on Sunday! The apple pancake was scrumptious. You and Dave are the best tour guides ever! (You ought to go into business!)

Mom, next time you guys are up here, I'll show you the elk! Just convince Dad not to work overtime some Saturday and we'll be set...

And yes, I forgot to mention the Walker Brothers Pancake House, a great landmark on the North Side breakfast scene.

Val,

They just opened a Medieval Times here near us, too! The boys would love to go, so we're going to do it for Evan's birthday in December.

Love,
Mary
