Das Gras ist grün

First off, here's the South Park character that my sister designed for herself...very nice.

While picturing my sister as some kind of S&M pirate is a reason enough to post, I originally had a different reason in mind for posting tonight. Pirate-Michelle is just a plus.

Okay. We all want the best for our friends, right? Even the ones we may not keep in touch with anymore.

Even when you've purposely taken a person out of your life, you can't help but feel something when you hear news of them, no matter how much you don't want to.

And, when the news you hear reminds you exactly why that person isn't in your life anymore, it's a very validating thing. And not a little tinged with Schadenfreude.

I love being reminded why the grass is indeed greener where I am right now in my life.

Wow, the two of you next to each other (in South Park character form) is so funny; it's like, "Wow, there's Val, she's all successful and going to law school...AND MICHELLE IS A CRAZY PIRATE!!!"

Isn't it fitting that the language to have a word for "pleasure derived from the misfortune of others" would be German? (considering the language itself sounds scary, no matter what you're saying) :-)

And the Dictionary.com word of the day today is GERMANE, meaning "appropriate or fitting!"
